first aid responder (FAR)

This is a PHECC approved 3-day programme designed to train personnel to deal with medical emergencies in their workplace and also available to Private Groups, Clubs and the general public on both a PRIVATE and a PUBLIC basis. Successful course participants will receive a First Aid Responder
certificate. Valid for 2 years.



CARDIAC FIRST RESPONDER (CFR)

4-hours training in Immediate Life Support skills (cardiopulmonary
resuscitation) including the use of an automated external defibrillator
(AED).

Learning objectives
  • Recognise and Assess the causes and effects of sudden illness
   and/or injury (Patient assessment) and administer immediate first aid
  • Cardiac first response [CFR] ; hands-on training in cardiopulmonary
   resuscitation (CPR), use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)
  • Common medical emergencies such as Diabetes, Epilepsy, Asthma and
   Anaphylaxis
  • Injury management and shock
  • Care of the unconscious patient
  • Burns and electrical injury care
  • Hypothermia and hyperthermia
  • Information management
  • Critical Incident Stress Management
